Hems & Brims Partners with GH Fashion School in Ghana

Last week, on March 6, 2026, Ghana celebrated its 69th Independence Day, a celebration of the nation’s rich history and resilience.

In line with this spirit of liberation, Hems & Brims has announced a new partnership with GH Fashion School in Achimota, Accra, Ghana, giving students institutional access to the Hems & Brims student portal. This collaboration marks our first African institutional partnership and reflects our broader commitment to connecting Black creatives across the global fashion industry.

GH Fashion School, located in Achimota, Accra, Ghana is a leading institution dedicated to nurturing the next generation of Ghanaian fashion talent. The school provides comprehensive programs in fashion design, styling, and entrepreneurship, equipping students with the creative and professional skills needed to thrive in both local and international markets. Through its innovative curriculum and emphasis on hands-on learning, GH Fashion School has become a hub for emerging creatives in Ghana’s growing fashion industry.

Founded in 2019, Hems & Brims was established to create structured pathways for Black creatives to enter, lead, and shape the fashion industry. Through our student portal, we provide access to self-paced courses in Black Fashion History, Fashion Design, Business of Fashion, and Sustainable Fashion, alongside one-on-one mentorship with industry professionals, peer collaboration opportunities, and professional development resources.

Our program is built on four core pillars: Purpose-Driven Learning, Personal Mentorship, Peer Collaboration, and Professional Development. Together, these pillars create a framework designed to address the systemic barriers that have historically limited access and advancement for Black talent within the fashion industry.

Our partnership with GH Fashion School marks a new chapter in building global opportunities for Black creatives in fashion. Ghana has emerged as a vibrant center for fashion innovation, with creatives gaining increasing recognition across international markets. Through this collaboration, students will gain access to resources and mentorship designed to showcase their talents and amplify their impact in the global fashion industry.

Students at GH Fashion School will now be able to access the same mentorship networks, educational resources, and professional development opportunities available to Hems & Brims students in the United States.

The collaboration also reflects our broader vision of strengthening connections across the African diaspora. By linking emerging creatives in Ghana with the wider Hems & Brims community, the partnership creates opportunities for collaboration, shared learning, and professional growth across borders.

We are truly honored to partner with GH Fashion School and look forward to supporting students’ continued growth in the global fashion industry.

As Hems & Brims continues to grow, our expansion into Ghana signals our long-term commitment to building a global platform that empowers Black creatives and fosters equitable access and opportunities across the fashion industry.
